The Amber Trust supports blind and partially sighted children across the UK in their pursuit of music. Amber funds music lessons, courses at junior music conservatoires, the purchase of instruments and specialist technology and, for those with life-limiting conditions, music therapy.
Amber also offers specialist support for visually impaired children in the early years and their families, through a music programme called 'Little Amber', and, from September 2018, will be running a new music scheme called 'AmberPlus', for young people who have additional disabilities and their families.
A suite of new online training materials is currently being developed for those wishing to work in this very specialised field.
The Amber Trust is indebted to Julia and Hans Rausing for their sustained and generous support, which has made much of Amber's recent, innovative work possible, and for their warm interest in what we do.
